Section 2402(a) of the Affordable Care Act: Oversight and Assessment of Home and Community Based Services
Friday, June 17, 2011
3:00 -- 4:30pm EST
Conference Call
888-455-2837 / Passcode: 8738879
Over the past thirty years federal, state and local governments have developed and financed home and community-based services (HCBS) for the elderly and individuals with disabilities to promote community living.   These agencies have used different approaches in defining, funding and overseeing their respective home and community-based service programs.
The passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) provides an opportunity to develop a consistent approach to aligning home and community based services across the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).   Section 2402(a) of ACA provides the Secretary of Health and Human Services the authority to require greater coordination among those agencies within HHS that have a role in making HCBS available to Americans that rely on them.
Call in to discuss how we can best implement section 2402(a).
