Of all the age groups, older adults are the group most at risk for fire injuries and deaths in the Commonwealth. That’s why the Department of Fire Services launched the Senior SAFE Program. Some of the fire and burn risks for older adults include cooking, smoking, home oxygen use, electrical and heating. There are many safety tips you can learn to reduce your risk of fire and burns. In the event of a fire, you may only have two minutes to get out of your house. It is important to know what to do if one occurs. Please read these messages and decide what steps you can take to keep yourself safe.
